Place the Videos on your iPod in the category they belong

Have you noticed that iPod automatically places all videos under the Movies category, hence your video files appear in the wrong (i.e. Music Videos and TV shows appear in Movies) category? There is a way to sort this and place them where they belong. If you purchase your contents from iTunes then you don’t have to worry about changing anything because iTunes does this for you. However if you prefer other ways of downloading contents or simply want to copy movies you already have on your computer to your iPod – you may find this quick how-to helpful.

This tutorial assumes that you have an iPod with Video (Fifth Generation iPod), iTunes installed and Videos in your iTunes Library.

1. Select the Video from your iTunes Library that you want to be categorized as Music Video

2. Right-click on the Video > Get Info

3. Go to Video Tab > Video Kind drop-down menu and select the video type.

For the purpose of this tutorial, select Music Video.

Once you’re done, the Video will be transferred to the category it belongs to – if it was a Music Video it will be in the Music category in your iTunes Library.
